Hi everyone! Christmas time is coming and I was wondering how it is celebrate in your countries. Perhaps you can write a few sentences about it. You know, dishes, parties, gifts, Santa Claus and other characteristic features.

I guess that will be nice for all of us to explore habits of other countries, because that's one reason of why this forum exists. Thank you all and wish you

MERRY CHRISTMAS/FELIZ NAVIDAD! smile

in Mexico is prety similar as it is in USA.

we put a tree up, put some xmas lights, and we recieve presents from santa in December and from the 3 magician kings on January the 6th. in the mean time, we celebrate some parties called "posadas" (shelter). where we ask for shelter "posada" , to the host of the party, by singing outside the house. in it we also break "piñatas" and drink punch of fruit. this is a catolic party

ah, and on January the 6th, we eat a special type of bread called "rosca de reyes" (the king's bagel). this bread has tiny dolls that represent jesus as a kid (about 6 dolls in every bage) and for those who got a doll in his piece of bread, well, they have to make or buy tamales (mexican dish) for everyone on febrary the 2nd.

and this is a brief summary of xmas in Mexiclo
