"Yo quiero aguarate"

Hey! I heard this on a Prince Royce song.... He said "Yo quiero aguarate"... I was just wondering what "aguarate" means.... I think it means "I want to spoil you"... and if that is the case then "aguara" would be in the imperfect subjunctive form so I guess I would like to know why you use the subjunctive form... This whole subjunctive thing is kicking my ass!

Hmmm, aguarar ...I don't know this word.

May be : agarrarte?

Yes, I think that is it.

Agarrarte : to hold tight

Okay... thanks... the word I was thinking wasn't aguarar... it was "aguar" - and in the dictionary it said it meant to rain down or to spoil - tinadn, Dec 17, 2010
But "quiero aguarte" doesn't make a whole lot of sense... "I want to water you down"? It does *not* mean "spoil" as in "I want to spoil you and buy you a diamond ring". It means spoil as in "it went mushy". - Gekkosan, Dec 17, 2010
