ir de viajas versus viajar

Question

does "ir de viajas" mean, "to go of you travel"? i know viajar means "to travel" and viajas means "you travel". I also know that ir means "to go", so that is fine... Just please tell me what "ir de viajas" means, and if it is in its correct form, like that. Thank you.

well...what does "ir de viajes" mean?... Does it mean "to go on trips." but then what does "de" have to do with it...

Yep. "De" is one of those words that means a ton of different things and doesn't always translate easily. The difference basically boils down to "to go on a trip" vs "to travel" in English. - kaitmurphy, Dec 16, 2010

Perhaps someone is getting confused with Ir de vacacciones I have never heard of the term Ir de viajes one should say voy a viajar I am going to travel going on a journey.

"ir de viajes" got 52,300 results.

"ir de viajas" got 3 results, one of which was this very thread.

Basically, I'm not sure, but I think they meant to write "ir de viajes", which I think is a less common way of saying "ir de viaje", which I think means "to go travelling." It's very possible I'm wrong. I am still quite the toddler in Spanish. - webdunce, Dec 16, 2010

the first is a verb, and the second a locución verbal
