I think it's a nickname for a person named "Mundo"... if it's not, I've no idea...

Now that I give it a second thought... Mundo is already short for Edmundo or Raymundo - Tonyriva, Dec 15, 2010
ok, I just read the story... my guess... it's a nickname, not necessarily related to Mundo - Tonyriva, Dec 15, 2010
I thought that too, but why is there an article in front of the name? - theredqueen, Dec 15, 2010
nicknames can have articles in front of them... in everyday speech is common to hear "¿y el Juan?" - Tonyriva, Dec 15, 2010
Okay, thanks :) - theredqueen, Dec 16, 2010

"El Mundelo" is this character's name, or rather, nickname.
