How to use the verb "apestar"

Question

In the context:

and, man it really stinks! (talking about the garbage)

I know you can say: "Que mal que huele" or "huele a rayos". But if I wan't to use apestar how do I put it in the sentence? Is it correct to just say:

"y que apesta" ?

'Qué mal que huele' sounds very colloquial. The usual way of saying it is 'Qué mal huele'.

To use 'apestar' you can say things such as :

'¡Cómo apesta!'

'Esto realmente apesta'

'Vaya manera de apestar'

etc..

And no, 'y que apesta' can't be used in that way. It means 'and that it stinks' (as in: 'I wanted to tell you that I'm not taking the garbage out, and that it stinks')

From the page you can see the first, second, and third person forms to each of the tenses.

For example, to say

I stink --> apesto You stink ---> apestas he/she/it stinks ---> apesta

I believe you can use "Esa basura apesta" and get the point across.

There are more advanced users on this site that (I hope) will correct this post if I am wrong.
