Translate a recipe
This may be a challenge. I looked up all the words I didn't know but quite a few weren't in the dictionary. Very probably some misprints. The recipe is from a cookbook put together by my son's school band to sell for a fund raiser.
Albohdigas con Chipotle Meatballs with Chipotle

What I understand is: 500 grams tomatoes 1/4 onion 1 ---- ---- 1 ----- chipotle pepper 500 grams ground beef 1/2 cup bread crumbs 1/2 rice 1 teaspoon english sauce? 2 eggs cumin cilantro and salt to taste
Now the directions.

Put in a skillet and cook tomatoes, chopped? onion, boiling water and chipotle, In another bowl mix the meat, rice, bread, eggs, english sauce (whatever that is) cumin and salt. Form balls and ____ in boiling water until the rice puffs up(?) finish with cilantro.
Of course none of the tildes are there and some words might be abbreviated. With this much information I don't think it will turn out right

I agree with Stadt. I bet that you add a small can of chipotles with the tomatoes but the recipe sure doesn't say what to do with them.
500 grams de jitomate - 1 lb. red tomatoes (I've always heard that jitomates are Roma tomatoes but it probably doesn't matter)
1/4 de cebolla - 1/4 onion
1 diente de ajo - 1 clove of garlic
1 bote chipotle - 1 can of chipotle peppers
500 grams carne molida - 1 lb. ground beef
1/2 taza de pan molido - 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
1/2 taza arroz - 1/2 cup of rice
1 chucharadita salsa inglesa - 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 huevos - 2 eggs
comino, cilantro, sal al gusto - cumin, cilantro, salt to taste
En una olla pone a cocer agua hirviendo - Put water to boil in a pot
- In another pan cook the tomato, onion and garlic. Then put it in the boiling water.
- Add the Worcestershire sauce, cumin and salt.
- In another bowl mix the meat, rice, bread, egg, cumin and salt
You make the meatballs and add them to the boiling water.
- When I see that the rice has just puffed up, it's ready and add the cilantro last.
P.S. Here's a different recipe for Caldo de Albóndigas/Meatball stew, if this recipe doesn't work:
Combine 3/4 lb. ground beef, 1 egg, 1/2 c. bread crumbs, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, 1 tblsp. parsley, 1/4 c. rice and make about 35 meatballs. Remove excess grease by pre-boiling or putting them spread out on a dish in microwave for 5 min. on medium.
Mix 2 c. chopped tomatoes, 1 c. sliced carrots, 4 c. water, 4 c. beef broth (boillion cubes work well), 1/2 c. chopped onions, 1 tblsp. parsley, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, 1/4 c. rice. Add meatballs. Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover pot, simmer for 1 hr.
Serve w/crackers or buttered tortillas.
This is from a great bi-lengual cookbook by Diane Soliz-Martese called Mexican Cooking Made Easy/Comida Mexicana facíl de preparar.
These are guesses for the first three blanks for what they are worth but:
diente, ajo, bote
clove of garlic, container (can) (of chipotle peppers)
I think salsa inglesa is worcestershire
The directions are harder.
Edit: since no other tries have been posted yet, I will post my guess.
In a pan of boiling water cook the (pre-sauteed?) tomato, onion and garlic, then add the worcestershire, cumin and salt. In another bowl mix the meat, rice, bread, egg, cumin and salt. Form the meatballs and put in the boiling water (maybe the stew mix above) until the rice is cooked and at the end add the cilantro.
This is purely a guess, as there are some words that I can't figure out. Also, I am totally missing where the chipotle peppers come into the recipe in the directions.
