On the review sheet for our exam their is a matching question with the resulting answer : La bandera americana es rojo, blanco, y azul.

Don't the adjectives have to agree in gender? Shouldn't that read:

La bandera americana es roja, blanca, y azul?

One of the very few things we learned in 7th grade Spanish class was the following poem:

*Roja, blanca y azul,

Qué bonita es mi bandera,

Yo te amo y te respecto,

Symbolo de mi tierra.*

i think the colors are masculine because the word color "el color in spanish is masculine. or maybe the text is just wrong

But "bandera"... "flag"... is femenine so the colors need to match the gender of the noun... that's why is roja, blanca y azul - Tonyriva, Dec 12, 2010
