Number one is the sky. It is so amazing, the clouds alone make a spectacular show. And that is just in the daytime. I will let you imagine the stars and the moon. If there are clouds at night where I live they are racing North reminding me of dancers flashing across a huge stage unbelievably fast. I never thought I would feel this way, but lizards (reptiles!) are endearing. I have always loved plants and flowers of most kinds but this Spring the wild flowers bloomed here for the first time in three years because a drought was broken. There were more than ten different ones that were various shades of lavender/purple/blue. Then white, orange, yellow, red, pink. I never thought I would find this place beautiful but I do, and the beauty is overwhelming.

Animals hide from humans but leave their tracks and other evidence of their presence. You can hear the coyotes at night and different birds.

I wish I could tell you more, I haven't been here a year yet. So far I recommend it.

I lived in the outback for five years and the only things I looked for were girls and beer. I looked at a lot of other things though.

Water and shade. After not too long, these are the things you look for in a desert.

Agua y sombra. Después de no mucho tiempo, estas son las cosas que buscas en un desierto.

Most people are probably looking for Lawrence of Arabia, but it is probably because they watch too many movies and don't read enough books. Biologists are probably studying (logist) living beings (bio).

Deserts are different from one another so it depends on where you go. There may be amazing rock formations, remains of ancient civilizations, fossil beds, caves, enormous dunes, even occasional roadside attractions.
