How to start a mail in formal form?

Hola todos! I want to write an e-mail to my Spanish teacher (she) and I think using querida is too informal. What can I use instead? Thanks

In Spanish we only use "querido/a" with people we love. If you send that to someone you don't know well, this person may get a bit shocked with your "confession".
Anyway, if you know her name and it is formal, start like this:
Estimada Sra. [name here] :
