Is it correct to say using the pretérito perfecto "He ido a la tienda esta manana"? I think is it incorrect to use the pretérito perfecto in this instance and to say "Fiu a la tienda esta manana" as you are talking about something that ook place today? I am sure that both forms are used casually in native speakers but which is grammatically correct? Thanks!

He ido a la tiendo means "I have gone to the shop." Fui a la tienda means "I went to the store." Both are correct its just the he ido is the past partciple and the other is in the preterite.

thanks for the reply. My spanish teacher has never used "pretérito indefinido" when talking about something that happened today and only with events that happened in the past why is this do you know? sorry probably a stupid question - alanreen, Dec 10, 2010
The distinction in Spanish is much like the distinction in English. - samdie, Dec 10, 2010

To me both sound perfectly correct...

I think is more of a regional thing... but in Mexico, is way more common to hear "Fui a la tienda esta mañana"
