Hi len! Welcome to the forum! smile Please remember to use correct capitalization.

tu means: your

su means : his/ her/its & your( if you are using usted form of you.)

I'm wondering if the question is really, when do you use the informal/formal tones? - 0074b507, Dec 10, 2010

You would use tu when you are speaking informally with them (using tú for you).

You would use su when you are speaking formally with them (using usted for you)

formal/informal
