Muchas respuestas excelentes. Sólo basado en quien respondió antes que los demás se podía escoger la mejor respuesta. - Carlos-F, Dec 9, 2010
#3, In the English language #3 you could use either "in" or "on" depending on the context. - Maria-Russell, Dec 9, 2010
For example: When people say, "John got off the bus," They're really saying he went from the inside to the outside of the bus, but people usualy describe it the first way i.e. "he got off the bus." - Maria-Russell, Dec 9, 2010
But, you can't say I'm in the bus, can you? (You say: I'm on the bus)... - Carlos-F, Dec 9, 2010

The question "Has the following sentence a syntactical or semantical error?" actually only asks for the amswer "Yes" or "No".

To require the given answer, i.e. "It's semantical", the question would need to be rephrased as "Is the error in the following sentence syntactical or semantical?"

Also, we would always say ... " of the USA", because "states" is a noun and thus needs a definate article, like "the United Kingdom" - and, of course, it isn't Vancouver smile

GGood points but we are practising Spanish grammer and spelling rather than determining the accuracy of the statement . - FELIZ77, Dec 9, 2010
I know - but I'm much better at English grammer than at Spanish :) - sheila-foster, Dec 9, 2010
Okay lol Fair point :) - FELIZ77, Dec 9, 2010
#1 This question has an explicit answer: semantical. Therefore you are right, the English question needs to be rephrased. - Carlos-F, Dec 9, 2010
#2 Yes, ...the USA (the question has a sintactical error), the name of the capital. - Carlos-F, Dec 9, 2010
Excellent Sheila... - Carlos-F, Dec 9, 2010

Oh yeah, Washington by itself is a state in the U.S. :) You definitely want to make that distinction. :) - Jason7R, Dec 9, 2010
