Entender is irregular in Ecuador, just like it is in Spain. As far as I know, this is true of Mexico, Central America, the rest of South America, and the Caribbean as well.

It is indeed. It means to understand.
In Latin America it would be 'entender - yo entendo, tu entendes, el entende', but in spain 'yo entiendo, tu entiendes, el entiende,'.
