My daughter is in a Spanish class and she is trying to remember the word for sandal, when we look it up sandalia is the closest word to what she thinks she heard in class, she keeps saying "sandalinas" over and over...does this mean sandal'

They are discussing things worn and one of the items they were talking about were different kinds of shoes, sandals were one of them.

My dictionary gives sandalia as the proper definition. In mexico there is a loosely woven shoe called huaraches that might pass for sandals.
