Please help with proof reading 3 sentences.

Thank you for any corrections with typos or grammar.

1 - Los barcos están en el océano y a la izquierda de la playa.

The boats are on the ocean and to the left of the beach.

2 – La mujer con su espalda al cielo no está debajo de un paraguas y está a la derecha de la mujer con las gafas y el libro.

The woman with her back to the sky is not under an umbrella and is to the right of the woman with the glasses and the book.

3 – El hombre de la toalla está entre la mujer de pelo largo y el árbol.

The man with the towel is between the woman with the long hair and the tree.

"...con la espalda al cielo..." In Spanish you don't usually use possessive pronouns with body parts

"El hombre con la toalla..."

It's more common to hear "el mar" than "el océano" though I suppose that both would be correct.

The rest looks good to me.

I think I have heard boca arriba and boca abajo similar to con su espalda al cielo. or would that just mean that "her back is facing (exposed to) the sun" rather than she is lying face down?

You sentences look fine. I think I would say El hombre con la toalla, but no matter.

You are correct Quentin. In a colloquial way you can also say "panza arriba" or "panza abajo". - 00e657d4, Dec 7, 2010
