How to say dates in Spanish
I am looking at an old textbook right now and it says something that I don't know whether or not it's still operational. It says that to relate a date, use "Estamos a + cardinal number"
For example, "Estamos a cinco" .....It is the 5th.
And for months and seasons, it is "Estamos en...."
Estamos en mayo.....It is May
Estamos en otoño....It is autumn
Is that the most common way that this is expressed?

Yep... that's how it works...
I think only in Latin America, if it's the first day of the month, you say the ordinal number"Estamos a primero de diciembre", in Spain you say "uno de diciembre", but the rest is cardinal numbers "estamos a dos de mayo"
Even how to ask for the date, in Mexico is very common "¿a cómo estamos?"
And about the months and seasons, "estamos en" is perfect...

That's true, but in the south of Spain it is not uncommon to hear "primero" too (at least where I come from).
