"A category 5 hurricane is approaching your area"

Question

I need to know how to say, "A category 5 hurricane is approaching your area." in Spanish. Would it be something along the lines of "Un huracán es de categoría 5 es acercarse el área de tú."? I guess I need to know how to properly say "approaching your area" in Spanish. Thanks.

I think "approaching your area" is "esta acercando a tu área"

But the thing is that many things in english don't directly translate to spanish so translating it word for word probably isn't correct.

Oh and by the way, you should probably spell out your words in english (like saying "thanks" instead of "thx"). You want the spanish-speaking people on here to learn proper english just like we want the english-speakers to learn proper spanish.

your could be tu, or su. I don´t know who you´re saying this to. And to approach is aproximarse, or acercarse. Check other threads for the use of -se verbs. - mediterrunio, Dec 6, 2010
