This seems a little stiff and I am not sure about en llamas, so could someone check the sentence for me?
¡Mira el ala de avión, se está en llamas!
Look at the airplane wing, it is on fire!

I'm from Spain,
I would say " ¡Mira el ala del avión, está en llamas! "

I'm never sure on "se" when using "se" as a D.O. pronoun. I was using it to refer back to the wing. So thanks miguel79 and I like your suggestion also Tania - foxluv, Dec 6, 2010

There's no way to reasonably combine "se" with "estar" (except as a helping verb for a progressive tense).
Good alternatives have already been provided.
