A por/para question

A por/para question

Hi everyone,

I do pretty well with por and para these days, but I'm wondering about this example I wrote in a letter:

"...me quedé alla pero me parecía un poco peligroso por la noche para/por gringos"

I stayed there but it seemed a bit dangerous at night for gringos.

I used para, but I'm not sure that that's correct, and when I look at the "list" of situations to use por or para I can't really find anything that would apply to this situation. Can anyone help out?

Thanks.

The sencence "...un poco peligroso por la noche por los gringos" would mean that it is dangerous because of (-->por) the gringos themselves. What you want to say is that the gringos would be the recipients (--> para) of the attack or whatever.

Very good job, the only detail is the last: ** Me quedé allá pero me parecía un poco peligroso por la noche para los gringos

Por would mean its dangerous because of them, but para would mean that its dangerous for them.
