Hola amigos:

4 + 2 = 6

8 - 3 = 5

4 x 5 = 20

12 : 4 = 3

Para mí:

cuatro más dos es igual a seis;

ocho menos tres es igual a cinco;

cuatro por cinco es igual a veinte;

¿Las he escrito correctamente?

también:

4² = 16 no sé

2³ = 8 no sé

Gracias,

Carole

Hi, Carole. I just added some extra spaces (by hitting the space bar twice) to make your post easier to read. :-) - --Mariana--, Dec 6, 2010
Yes thanks Marianne, I noticed it didn't look well, but I didn't know how to fix it :-) - CaroleAR, Dec 6, 2010

math operations

Please read the comment about is in English, son in Spanish

If you put it in words there are several ways to say things.

more

As these articles show there exist as many ways in Spanish to say 2+2=4 as you can in English.

4² = 16 cuatro (al) cuadrado

2³ = 8 dos (al) cubo

I never did see the answer in a previous thread on whether dividido por or entre was more common for division - 0074b507, Dec 6, 2010
They are both correct, but por is more common here. - lorenzo9, Dec 6, 2010
