Flashcard set
Hello peeps, I'm probably being thick but I can't make my new flashcard set play with the Spanish words spoken. When I created it, I put the English words/phrases on the left side, the Spanish on the right, as it seems to suggest. I've looked at options and tried them, but the words are still spoken in English.
What have I done wrong?

Hi Sally, change the language of the website. 
I think you are using it in Spanish, so the website thinks you are a Spanish! 
Use it in English and they will be read in Spanish..
Odd. I've tried it with the language set both ways and I get the Spanish read by the male voice and the English by the female voice.
You do have a couple that aren't pronounced - No cuelgues and Pareces otra. You might have some extra spaces before or after the Spanish phrases.
I have to confess, Sakis, that I'm not 100% certain what you mean by 'clean the fields' ( IT being one of the many areas which are 'fuzzy' for me...).
I just clicked on 'editar..' and proceeded from there?
I tried the 'usted' forms of both the problem phrases, and he still won't say them! So I set them back to the 'tú' forms for now.
By the way, most of them come from a book I bought called 'Spanish Among Amigos', which I find fun and interesting. I made a little set to keep in my kitchen (it's better than cooking!) and thought I'd share them. :D
Hi Sally. Possibly the Flashcard Translater is rejecting the s at the end of no cuelgues!

As for the problem one idea.. Just try to clean the field first ( maybe some control character has been embedded) and then simply type the words.
Maybe this will reset the field..
In a user created flashcard set, no matter what the native language of the person who created it, if the words are in the right language column:
If you access with your page set to English
Recognize: English word at top, you pick from 4 Spanish options
Listen: Spoken Spanish word (male voice), you pick from 4 English options
Recall: English word at top, you type in the Spanish
If you access with your page set to Spanish
Reconocer: Spanish word at top, you pick from 4 English options
Escuchar: Spoken English word (female voice), you pick from 4 Spanish options
Recordar: Spanish word at top, you type in the English
This is the only way I see for the site designer to make it automatically put the flashcards in the proper format for the language you are learning. Otherwise you would have to tell it for each set which language you are trying to learn. If you want to do the cards correctly, but like having the website in the language you are learning rather than your native language, simply change temporarily to your native language before you do the cards.
Yes, Sally. I accidentally changed my language bar to "in English" and made a set and the lady read the words. When I switched the upper right bar back to "en español", the guy was reading the words again. I think that Cuté is right and that is all that you have to do.

I agree that this is the problem. When I change my website language to English, the flashcards played fine, i.e., the Spanish word was spoken in Spanish.

What lady? I don't have a lady that reads to me with my flashcards.

I don't think that has anything to do with it in this case. My page is in Spanish and the flasncard set is working properly: the lady reads the English words and the gentleman reads the Spanish words.
If may effect the outcome while you are in editing mode, however.

Indeed, it seems to go quite well apart from that. I've edited them to ensure I put no extra spaces (with '¡No cuelgues! I just used the instant translator this time) but they still don't sound.

But when you open the set, the ones which are asked are due to the language you use.. Therefore the voices too... Well, I tried it like that after Sally asked it, and it changed correctly.. Maybe it's not the proper method but it's a method.
Yes, changing the page language setting will effect which language the prompts and the answers are given in when you "play" the cards. Left and right were mentioned so I assumed the problem was in the editing mode or clicking on the speaker icons from the vocabulary list of words. They should work correctly there, no matter what your page language is set to.
What lady? I don't have a lady that reads to me with my flashcards.
Something is amiss. I have done both the English lessons and the Spanish lessons. In the lesson flashcards the English words are always a female voice, and the Spanish words are always a male voice. The same should occur in the Vocabulary flashcards. When I click on the English words in the list (left side) they are pronounced in a female voice. When I click on the Spanish words in the list (right side) they are pronounced by a male voice. Is that not happening for you?
