I woke up with a pierced ear.

- Gekkosan, Dec 14, 2010

The phrase "me despertó una mordida en mi oreja" is understandable enough but at the same time a little confusing without the context of the dog; For people, we use "Oído" and for animals, "Oreja."

I would also say "... la oreja."

It was a story about a dog, so in this sentence the dog was telling how he was woken up one morning by a cat who was biting his ear. But I still liked the answer about pierced ear smile
