Hola Mabelsg if you are really interested in learning Spanish this is a great site to use people on here are very friendly and ready to help. Ever since I started using this site everyday it has greatly improved my Spanish I wish you the best of luck in learning Spanish. 
We can all empathize. We have all been there with one language or the other.
Anything that we can do to make it less difficult, just ask. You might be surprised to know how extensive your Spanish vocabulary already is! Spanish has many words that are spelled exactly as their English synonyms or are easily recognized from similar English words. Of couse, it has it share of "false friends" also. (words that look similar to English words, but may have a different meaning in some contexts (e.g. real (royal), actual (now, present time). Then there is a host of words that we have stolen from Spanish (e.g. rodeo, lasso (lazo), mesa (geology), etc.)
