I've been in California too long. Cloche popped into my head. That's definitely wrong.

I've been in California all my life. I can totally relate. - kmeza, Dec 1, 2010
Do you say lonche? Arg. I was teaching a Spanish for Spanish Speakers class in high school and the native Spanish speakers didn't know what almuerzo was. I, the gringo, had to teach them that lonche was not a Spanish word. - KevinB, Dec 1, 2010
I was reading a Junie B. Jones book in Spanish recently and noticed that they used the work lonche often. "Junie B Jone es la jefa de la cafetería." - 0074b507, Dec 1, 2010
They probably parquear el carro, too. Heathens. ;-) - KevinB, Dec 1, 2010
Sadly, here in So. Ca. you hear the native Spanish speakers say "lonche" all the time. I grew up only speaking English and I know that the correct word is almuerzo. - kmeza, Dec 2, 2010
