pestaña en el ojo

I get eyelashes stuck in my eye constantly. I hate it.

In english, I say "I have an eyelash in my eye", is it said the same way in spanish? Is it "in" your eye? Or is it said differently like "on" your eye or something?

I have an eyelash in my eye again! grrr

¡Pobre de mí! ¡Tengo una pestaña en el ojo otra vez! shut eye

Is that correct?

"¡Pobre de mí!" sounds too theatrical for my taste. Notice that in English you've written "an eyelash", but in Spanish only "eyelash". The indefinite article "a(n)" must be used in both languages: "¡Tengo una pestaña...!"

hehe, I put in pobre de mi instead of the rougher true language I'd actually use, which is still very theatrical but not family friendly for here :) - cheeseisyummy, Dec 1, 2010

Tengo una pestaña en el ojo is perfectly fine. That's the way I say it.
