Different translations for "I miss you".

Can anyone tell me the difference between these three? 1. (Yo) Le Falta 2. (Yo) Te extraño 3. Te echo de menos

I was thinking that the third one was used more often in Spain. Just need to know what the differences are and when or where to use which, I am in North America

"me haces falta", "te echo de menos", "te extraño" all mean the same thing and can be used to express the same feeling, "I miss you".

I heard "te hecho de menos" more than the other two in Latin America, but the others are used as well, especially in songs. also the verb faltar can be used to express missing or lacking something, "falta uno" means "1 is missing" or "it's lacking 1", the dictionary explains is better.

This is my take: extrañar=miss someone echar de menos= miss something or someone faltar=to lack something
