We used to have that video capability in our Chat Room (different Chat host). I don't think that it is possible with the current host.
If you join the Skype chat, Skype has the ability to do video conferencing/chat, but I don't think that they use the video feed in our Skype chats. They only suggest that you have a headset, not a web cam.
When I used to use video conferencing software (Net Meeting, etc.) you could select which person out of a group that you wished to receive the video feed from (allowing private chat as well a group chat) or the person initiating the meeting served as a moderator of the chat and he controlled which video feed that you saw or which audio feed that you heard.
Of course, you can always strike up a conversation in the Chat room, then move it ouside this site to Google Chat, one of the many instant messengers, etc. that have video capabilities.
It helps to be able to see a person's facial features when talking, but unless you have a really fast computer and internet connection the video/audio do not always sync too well. At least, not well enough to help discern pronunciation.
And I totally agree with Heidita's suggestions. ![]()
