Spanish for game.

Spanish for game.

I was just translating a sentence which included the word game.

Who won the game?

Which got me to wondering which is more correct?

As far as I know there are three options - el juego which didn't feel right, is that more for like children playing a game, but not really for competitive, scoring games?

Then partido for game as in match, soccer etc (the one i chose btw) - and partida for games such as board games.

Of course I could be way off, hence the question smile All enlightenment gratefully received as always smile

I don't see anything wrong with "juego" (although I don't know the context). This word is not only for children.

gracias, so juego can just be any old game, scoring or not? - Kiwi-Girl, Nov 29, 2010
