How do say "this means"?

As in "this means that the parents will have to take a day off"

If you use the translator bar, it says "esto significa". It is a good translation and it'll probably work, but without more context it is hard to say whether there's a more accurate translation ("this" refers to something previous and you didn't mention what that thing is).

Apart from "esto significa", you can also say "lo cual" or "lo que" instead of "esto" and "quiere decir" instead of "significa".
