Many crystals show a regular beehive structure as the hexagonal arrangement is one of the most stable geometries in nature.

The beehive hairstyle was great if you liked to have a gooey brick of hair on your head.

Also, we would say "un pegote de pelo" en la cabeza. If you want to say "ladrillo pegajoso", it has to agree in gender. Hug!! - cogumela, Nov 28, 2010
Well, this is written in past tense, so I'd say 'estaba bien si querías tener un 'ladrillo pegajoso' en la cabeza' - bill1111, Nov 28, 2010

The Walnut industry in the USA relies on imported Bee hives to pollinate their trees.

Thank you cogu, and thank you for your great help and involvement on Sat chat. - ray76, Nov 28, 2010
This works, but 'basar(se)' means the same as 'to be based on'. A more precise translation here would be 'depende de las colmenas de abejas importadas'. As I said, your version works, but 'se basa' is a stronger version of your English sentence. - bill1111, Nov 28, 2010
Thank you bill I see that your version is much simpler and agrees more with the English . - ray76, Nov 28, 2010

If all the cells of a beehive weren't in the shape of a hexagon, would they still look so impressive?

It was like a beehive of activity this weekend at the shopping mall.

The Hive, a Spanish novel, might get its name from anecdotes and short stories seen as a whole, as if they were cells in a big beehive

The photo on top is what a typical artificial beehive looks like.

In Lithuania they must love their bees, the bottom photo shows what their beehives look like.
