"So much for the plan..." en español.
¡Hola a todos! Como se dice, 'so much for the plan' en español.
I want to be able to say in my short story assignment, in that almost sarcastic, defeatist way, 'so much for the plan', after the character is caught by the police despite the way he planned out every single detail to what he thought was perfection. Any ideas? Thanks for any suggestions!

you could say:
´Hasta acá llegó el plan´
if you want to be ironic, you could say:
´¡El plan perfecto!´
but it´shard to convey irony in written form if the reader does not get to know the caracter.
Tanto por el plan, as you infer, makes no sense.
The literal translation is out of the question, of course. There's several ways that I'd say it:
- 'Pues vaya con el plan..' (this expression would probably be the one that most closely resembles 'so much for..' in my opinion)
- 'Pues sí que..' (this is like a generic way of showing disappointment)
- 'Vaya porquería de plan..' (this is more like a translation of 'what a crappy plan..')
