Kiwi Miners - Sad News
For those who have been following the tragedy here in NZ I just thought I'd let you know of the sad news that we have just received.
Up until recently there was hope that a rescue was possible - we had hoped that the miners had made their way to an air vent away from any poisonous fumes and that a way to get to them would soon be found, but that has now been ruled out. There has now been another massive explosion in the mine with no hope of survivors. :(
Words can't really describe what the friends and families of the miners must be going through. Thank you to everyone who had NZ in their thoughts and of course our hearts go out to the friends and families of those lost in this terrible disaster.

We just heard of the sad outcome a few minutes ago. Such a pity, so sad.
Dear M-C,
My heart breaks for your national tragedy. We were all hoping for the same outcome as the miracle in Chile.
The people of all nations gather together to pray for the families of these men who died trying to better the lives of themselves and the ones they love.
Thank you Kiwi , it is heartbreaking news, I have been following it closely and posting the lates news ,but when i heard this on ABC I just could not do anything ,it drained me of emotion, up until this I still held some hope. god help the families.
Terrible :(
I've just come home from work Kiwi Girl to this sad news. I turned on the telly and on our news there was a heartbroken dad saying all he wanted was for his boy to come home - the picture showed a fresh-faced young man who couldn't have been more than 20 or 21........just too awful for all the families.....
For all the miners....
I am so sorry. God bless the ones left behind, family, friends, co-workers, the whole nation - all who grieve in this terrible time.
O God, you have designed this wonderful world, and know all things good for us. Give us such faith that, by day and by night, at all times and in all places, we may without fear entrust those who are dear to us to your never-failing love, in this life and in the life to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I'm so sorry, MC. My prayers go out to the families and friends of the lost miners.
This is a shocking and terrible news.
MC (Kiwi), my heart is breaking for your country and for these poor miners and their families. There are absolutely no words that would be adequate at a sad time like this.
I will continue to pray for the families of these brave men. I know you believe as I do that God is able to provide a peace that is beyond our comprehension.
Please know that our love and thoughts are sent instantaneously around the world to where you are. I hope that situations like this will make us each more thankful for the many, many people around the world who put their lives in danger on a daily basis in order to provide for our lives and also to protect us. I'm thinking of police, firefighters, military, construction workers, pilots, rescue workers and of course...miners. There are so many occupations where people (along with their brave families) put themselves in absolute danger every single day of the week as we go about our business. I am thankful that God has provided so many brave people in this world who are willing to sacrifice their own precious lives so that we can enjoy ours
Terrible, terrible news. Such a dangerous job. ![]()
