Pagado vs. Pago
I noticed that the participle of pagar is both pagado and pago. Is this used much? Can I say, "He pago la cuenta"?
Is it regional?
This seems to be the case with apagar, too.

Hi , pesta !
He pago la cuenta? Really?
It is not very common, in my area at least. It's sounds like a big mistake to my ears. I just can say that if I hear this, I understand it, but I think -It should be "pagado", shouldn't it?-
About this, I have heard many times :
"he pagao la cuenta" , is the lazy form ( and incorrect )
and several times:
"¿está la cuenta paga?", that sounds extremely colloquial and I'd swear that it's a not too correct form, but maybe I'm wrong and it's very used in other areas.
Edited: however, according to RAE the form is worth to be in the dictionary!
pago3, ga.
- part. irreg. coloq. p. us. de pagar.
although it specifies: little-used colloquial irregular participle

Hi pesta,
I'm Spanish, you can't say "He pago la cuenta" you should say "He pagado la cuenta" which is present perfect. "pago" is in present , " yo pago la cuenta".
The"Presente" of this verb is
Yo pago Tu pagas El paga Nosotros pagamos Vosotros pagáis Ellos pagan
I hope it helps you,
Miguel
Pagué la cuenta la semana pasada. I paid the bill last week. Pagó la cuenta la semana pasada. He/she paid the bill last week.
