How do I insert video in an answer?

I know how to use the hyperlink to a video. However, I have seen other answers that show the video as a box. How do we do that?

Also, while I am at it, one more question...

Some users insert graphics that move. What is the secret to inserting graphics that move?

Hi Joyce, moving graphics are added the same way as photos but you have to use an animated file to begin with. Click on one of those that you have seen in a post to find the address and search from there. As for adding video I'll have to think about that one. I use youtube and link it to the site but have never tried putting it right in like a photo.

Well, you've made a good point in that one can link to a video just like one can link to any webpage. - webdunce, Nov 23, 2010

I don't know how to insert videos here. I didn't think that was possible. However, for moving graphics, the picture file must an animated GIF. A GIF is a special file format allowing transparency and simple animation (basically a small collection of pictures played in sequence).

You can click the "edit" link on any post you are curious about and see how the author coded their post.

So moving pictures are inserted like any other pictures, it's just that the picture you link to must be an animated GIF file.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, everyone, for your insight and answers. Now I can stop wondering and can get back to dancing around the place.

Here's the secret, what I thought were videos were actually fragments of videos converted to animated GIF. I may be revolutionizing our posts at SpanishDict.com, but fragments of youtube videos can be converted to GIF moving images at www.gifsoup.com.

You can even learn to make your own animated GIF's from videos on this site.

Now that you know this, don't you feel like dancing, too?
