Thinks of could have a few contexts. To reminisce about (recall), to come up with, etc..... Could you give more context.
when someone thinks of a lost dear one they usually.... (recall)
when someone thinks of a solution to our dilemma, speak out. (formulate)
What do you think of his chances for winning the election? (opinion)

"Cuando una persona piensa en la película primera de un director" was the first part of the sentence. As in, "when someone thinks of the first movie a director produced..." - cape1310, Nov 23, 2010
