how do you alphabetize titles in a Spanish-speaking library?

Hi, my brother is volunteering in a bilingual elementary school library, and he needs to alphabetize books by title. Do Spanish libraries alphabetize books like we do, for example: the Giver would be Giver, the or is there another way to do it?

(sorry, it's an esoteric question)

No, good question - I am curious to hear the answer. Yes, in English the rule is to ignore the definite or indefinite article if it is the first word in the title - I worked in a library myself, once. - revmaf, Nov 22, 2010

In my dictionary, it places words that begin with ñ after those that begin with n, ch words after c, etc.

But as for book titles, sorry, I have no idea what they do with them. oh oh
