Te Vas Y te Pierdo
This evening I heard this song. Ella Baila Sola, Te Vas Y Te Pierdo
I searched for a translation and found this.Translation
Any of us that have been around SD for awhile have heard this "It makes no Sense" Well this translation makes no sense to me.
I fear that if I did not get the jist of these beautiful lyrics (I particularly love the "Toads dancing the flamenco" verse. Well..then maybe I did not learn as much as I thought.
Please take a minute, have a look. I'm interested in fellow members interpretations.
Thanks.....................................
Me alegra tanto oir tu voz aunque dormido
me alegra tanto escuchar
aunque no tengas nada
te vas y te pierdo
I'm so happy to hear your voice although asleep
for if one day as in your dreams you finish
looking for a place to return,
and unable to forget what you leave
what you have learned
the faces are going to change
the dreams, the days,
and slowly I lose you
like a gift that becomes tarnished
I wipe away who cleaned it
like a glass after drinking
the sweetest drink,
with a goodbye with an I love you
and with my lips on your fingers
so as not to pronounce the words
that give me so much fear: you leave and I lose you
I'm so happy to listen to
your promises as you walk away
To know you plan to return someday
when toads dance the flamenco
and once again I wait for you.........
although I don't quite understand that the toads
can still jump and dance
far from their ponds,
because my eyes are lit up
with your face
and now that I don't see you they're put out
because I prefer you at my side
even if you have nothing
you leave and I lose you

Well often times songs are "transliterated" to preserve a semblance of the original while really creating a new song since it isn't feasible to just translate it literally. This one seems pretty literal though, hey at least he kept the toads in there. ![]()
