In that case upbeat style = estilo optimista = optimistic style

.. which is the mood for that style of music... I think,

I think that I 've heard the term "anacrusa" for the upbeat gesture of the maestro. That's the upward stroke made by a conductor to indicate the beat that leads into a new measure. The word for upbeat (music term) in English is anacrusis.
