Why has this answer been marked as spam? It seems perfectly reasonable to me. - galsally, Nov 19, 2010

yes, cafetería may be a lunchroom or even a bar that opens at midday and works as a lunchroom.

There are places that used to be coffe shops but nowadays they have diversified their activity to offer not only coffee and associated goods but also restaurant services.

In Chile cafetería is a coffe shop and "casino" is the most common word to refer to a lunchroom, but some people use cafetería in both ways. Generally a casino is bigger and a cafetería is smaller.
