hard to find vocabulary

I've been listening to Eragon in Spanish. I can't find translations for the following words (my best guess for the spelling):

  • vertebradas
  • vardones

Any help is appreciated.

Edit: I should have added this before. Based on the context, "vertebradas" refers to a scary or dark place and "vardones" refers to a group of men or soldiers or rebels.

¡Hola!, Hyrumt;

Is it possible you are dealing with spelling mistakes?

Are the words you want to be looking for really something to do with:

  • vertebrados = in English, 'vertabrates', and
  • vereadones (perhaps some variant of the verb 'vareador' = 'vareador' in English is 'One who beats down with a pole or staff."

If you work with these spellings, is it any help??

Muchos saludos/Best regards,

Moe

Well I found out the reason why I can't find these vocabulary words in any dictionary. They're made up.

Vardenos

Vertebradas

Do you mean in English? - Myneg, Nov 18, 2010
There are sometimes differences in spelling between England and the U.S. I don't know if the dictionary is wrong or there is just a difference between the spelling in England and the U.S. - JoyceM, Nov 18, 2010
In English, I believe vertebra is the singular and vertebrae is the plural. - Stadt, Nov 18, 2010

vértebra ....... vertebra

(Maybe this is the word) balbón ........ Dishonor or confrontational word

Many times a translator or dictionary doesn´t recognize the plural form of a noun.
