Should cuando be followed by the subjunctive or indicative mood please ? I was taught by one of my teachers of Spanish that cuando is normally followed by the subjunctive is this accurate/always true ?

For example, if I was wanting to say in Spanish : When you told me you wanted to borrow my car keys... were you joking? Would I say?

or

Adverbial conjunction of time

Adverbial conjunctions of time:

The following adverbial conjunctions deal with time, and are followed by the subjunctive when they introduce an anticipated situation. If they introduce one which is viewed as completed or habitual, they are followed by the indicative.

I usually see it worded as when what follows cuando refers to future time (even if it is future in the past) then the subjunctive is used.

If you google other articles use the keywords "adverbial conjunctions+ subjunctive". There are a lot of them. (similar to cuando or which always take the subjunctive)

Hi feliz smile

I'd say :

Edit: I've consulted to my maestro, and he told me that it should be querías instead of quisieras grin

Well yes I forgot it, grin I think it depends on the time and the situation Feliz. For example:

It's every day activity and indicative.

Cuando me estaba bañando me llamaste y no te pude contestar. Indicative..

Indicative...

As you see it depends. I hope this helps you... smile
