What is albergue universitario? College dorm? is it an actual hostel on campus? - 0074b507, Nov 18, 2010
If by caretaker you mean 'someone who gives physical and emotional care and support', that can't be translated as 'portero'. 'Portero' is someone who takes care of an office or apartment building. - bill1111, Nov 18, 2010
Oh, and I'm not sure what an 'albergue universitario' is either. I guess it's a term used in latin america (in Spain we call a dorm 'residencia universitaria' or 'colegio mayor', depending on the kind) - bill1111, Nov 18, 2010

The "person" in Vaanz's pic could be a caretaker, a groundskeeper, or a janitor. - amykay, Nov 18, 2010
Yeah, Hostel inside the college. He used to clean up the mess we make during birthday parties at night without the knowledge of our warden. - Vaanz, Nov 18, 2010

What does it mean? Pay the treasurer enough that he won't be tempted to embezzle funds? - 0074b507, Nov 18, 2010
Never heard it before, but I guess it must mean something like that. However you missed the meaning of 'portero' in that saying. It means 'doorman' (these are usually old sayings, and professionalism in sports is a relatively modern thing) - bill1111, Nov 18, 2010
Yes Bill.. that is what it means.. sorry.. the picture is going to disolve in something else.. - sv2qp, Nov 18, 2010
I think that answers your question too.. qfreed.. - sv2qp, Nov 18, 2010
