"you are funny" VS "you are fun"

ok so this is a mistake I see people learning english make all the time, I don't wanna make the same mistake in spanish. so in English you can say to someone that they are funny, like they are comical, they make good jokes etc... but you can also tell them they are fun, like they are fun to hang out with and it's fun to have them around. To say someone is fun doesn't necessarily mean they are funny. They might be unfunny but be fun to have around, like they are enjoyable.

so in spanish, "eres divertido" means "you are fun" right? and "eres gracioso" means "you are funny", correct?

"Eres divertido" and "eres gracioso" are similar. They both are a way to say that you are funny. When you want to say that someone is fun to hang out you could say: "es divertido estar contigo" or "es divertido pasar tiempo contigo", refering to the context, not the person.

Yes. You can also say "Alegre" (divertido) and "Chistoso" (gracioso)
