And what did it say when you tried the Translation? I tried it in the translation and it gave the correct answer if your best friend is a male. If your best friend is a female, the o would be changed to an a.

Look, it worked for me too...
best friend
= el mejor amigo
Best Friend noun phrase 1. mejor(a) amigo/a Eres mi mejor amigo. -> You are my best friend. Dog is a man's best friend. -> El perro es el mejor amigo del hombre.
