Yes, you say 'escrita por', rather than 'escrita de'. When you say things like 'escrita', 'dirigida', 'compuesta', etc.. you use 'por'. It's when you want to say things like 'a Stephen King book' or 'a book by Stephen King' that you use 'de', ie: 'un libro de Stephen King'. This also applies to movies, songs, etc..

escrit@ por (escrito or escrita depending on the noun that escrit@ is modifying)

Este libro fue escrito por....

Esta nota fue escrita por....

¿Y cómo se lee ese "escrit@"? ¿Escritarroba? - lazarus1907, Nov 16, 2010
why not "escritado/a"?? - Goldie_Miel, Nov 16, 2010
quentin, that is nonsense, @ isn't a letter! - 00494d19, Nov 16, 2010
escrit@ = escrit_ .. or better yet it's equal to escrito/a...@ is representing both the 'o' and 'a'...an 'a' inside an 'o'...HTH - Goldie_Miel, Nov 16, 2010
