How are songs sung in Spanish?

I want to know if they rhyme in English words (example: gordo - gato) or if they rhyme in Spanish (example: puerro - perro). If they rhyme, how does the song make sense, in either language. Gracias.

If there is any rhyming in a song the rhyme is in the same language, not in the translations of the words. "han salido pero yo no te he ido." It rhymes in Spanish but not English.
