Maybe you're thinking of conmigo = with me. That's the only time I can think of. You don't say con mí, you say conmigo. Why? Because that's what they say it.

Might be a confusion between mi and mio:

Esta pluma es mía. Esta es mi pluma

This is also confusing to me.

Why? Because that's what they say it.

The why is rather amusing: "with me" in Latin was "mecum" (me + cum), with the preposition attached after the pronoun. When Spanish had evolved into a language rather different from Latin, people began to feel that saying "mecum" alone, without a preposition (they were not aware that the preposition was there) sounded weird, so they decided to use it with the preposition "con", like any other word: "con mecum", which eventually fused into "conmigo" because it was easier to pronounce.

Hi, Jess, welcome to the forum.

The word "mi" (no accent) means "my", and you use it in front of nouns, such as: "my friend" - "mi amigo"..."my house" - "mi casa"..."my book" - mi libro".

There is no word "migo". Is it possible that you are thinking of either "amigo" - "friend" or "conmigo" - "with me"?

I hope this has helped.
