Here's a short passage from 'Amar' today, Eva Martin (as Irene Medina) is giving private French lessons to a young student. This is what she had to say about reading...

"Es importante que cuando leas, analizes siempre el sentido de lo que estás leyendo. No se trata solo de entender lo que significa una palabra o una frase, sino de entender el significado que tiene en el conjunto de la historia. A aprender francés, o cualqiuer otro idioma, no consiste solo en memorizar conjugaciones o vocabulario, sino que consiste en aprender a pensar de otro modo, en conocer otros mundos."

As you will hear if you watch the short video, she speaks very clearly; I can understand almost everything she says in the program. I wasn't sure about the 'el' that I thought I heard before 'conjugaciones' though.

I think it's sound advice. (This coming from someone who went through much of her schooldays not knowing what the teachers meant by English Comprehension. raspberry)

Great advice -- try to get the gist of a conversation when you are first learning or practicing listening comprehension.

If you'd like to see the program, here's the link! Amar en Tiempos Revueltos Cap, 47

'Irene' is giving the lesson from 17 to 19 minutes, and the monologue I've transcribed here is from 20.30 to 22.30.

From 19 to 20.30 minutes are the show's characters that I find more difficult to understand, well, the 2 men anyway. It's taken me a while to get about 50-60% of what the men say!
