Does any of this not make sense

This doesn't make sense. I guess you mean that he has stopped having parties because one that he threw in Febrary was a madness, huge and awesome. Is that what you meant?
This sentence is correct, there's no mistake in it. However, you could change the second "un partido" for "otro", just to avoid repetition.
Again, no mistake, but I'd remove "un" in search of talking in general about tennis matches: using "un" makes one think about the number of matches you may have one day. Besides, you can say "voy de compras", which is also more general than "a comprar".
That one might be typo, but "deberes" is plural, so "muchos" has to be plural too.
You could say tener, in the sense of "tener una cita", like "having a meeting. But I guess that's not whay you meant, so if you want to talk about "having lunch", eating, use "tomar". Besides, you need "el" here.
I'd use the plural, because in singular it seems you mean there's one youth who is not lazy, but the rest of young people are lazy.
