se detiene en la acera or a car pulls up to the curb.....un coche se detiene en la acera

more specifically...bordillo de la acera can be curb . If you were in a parking spot and wanted the driver to pull up (forward) to the curb, then perhaps,,,, detenga el carro hasta el bordillo de la acera.
